The Chapel of St Christopher at Devonport Naval Base is popular for weddings for Serving and Ex Serving personnel – both military and civilian.
The historic central window behind the altar in the Chapel of St Christopher is constructed from the steering wheel of HMS PHILOMEL. The names of New Zealand ships/units that suffered losses in World War II are displayed around the rim. The Chapel also features windows depicting St Christopher, Patron Saint of Travellers and St Brandon, Patron Saint of Navigators.
All requests relating to getting married at the Naval Chapels need to be made through the RNZN Chaplaincy Centre. The Chaplaincy Centre will respond to your enquiry or put you in touch with one of their Chaplains.
